Software, web & infrastructure · Norman, OK

Your website is
where we start,
not where we stop.

Custom websites, web applications, AI-assisted workflows, and the infrastructure underneath them. We design it, we build it, and we keep it running.

Most businesses don't need a stack of disconnected tech vendors. They need a website, the systems behind it, and someone who understands how the pieces fit together. That's the whole idea behind Cortex.

What we do

What we build, and what we keep running.

Websites are usually the front door. A good share of the work lives just behind it. A few of the things we handle, in rotation:

Build

New website build

A custom site designed around your business. No themes, no page builders, responsive on every device.

Build

Web applications

Client portals, dashboards, booking systems, and internal tools, built on Cloudflare Workers with user accounts and real data behind them.

Build

AI-integrated apps

Document search, intake processing, summarization, and custom tools that work with the information your business already has.

Build

Website rebuild

Already on Wix, WordPress, or Squarespace? We rebuild it cleanly on fast, secure hosting.

Cloudflare hosting, backups, security, monitoring, and content changes handled for you monthly.

Run

Connect & support

Systems & network support

Hands-on help with workstations, networks and Wi-Fi, printers, access issues, and the occasional mystery nobody can quite explain.

Build

Resume & portfolio sites

One professional place to send people, with your work, credentials, and a simple contact path.

Jacob Upchurch Jansen Matzell
Who you're working with

A systems engineer and a developer.

Cortex is Jacob Upchurch and Jansen Matzell. Jacob works across network infrastructure, systems administration, back-end development, and security. Jansen handles front-end development, project planning, and the client side of every build. Between the two of us, a project doesn't have to stop at the website.

The people who scope the work are the people who build it and keep it running. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Questions

The practical stuff, answered.

What people ask before handing us their website, or something bigger.

Do you build things other than websites?+

Yes. We also build client portals, dashboards, internal tools, booking systems, automations, and AI-assisted workflows. Some projects include a public website. Others are entirely internal.

Can you work on something another company built?+

Usually. We review the existing site or application, explain what's worth keeping, and recommend whether to repair it, extend it, or rebuild it.

Do we have to host with you?+

No, but most clients do because it is easier. Everything we host runs on Cloudflare's global network, and small changes can be live within minutes.

What happens after launch?+

On a care plan, we handle hosting, monitoring, security updates, backups, performance checks, and routine content changes. If something breaks, we often notice before you do, because we monitor the sites we maintain, and we built the thing, so fixes don't pass through a chain of vendors.

Can you connect the tools we already use?+

In many cases, yes. Forms, calendars, payments, databases, and email systems can usually be wired together when reliable integrations exist.

How does pricing work?+

We start with a real conversation, then give you an exact quote based on the scope.

Do you use AI?+

Yes, carefully. We may use AI to help review code, catch issues, or test edge cases. We do not hand your site to AI and call it done. The final build, decisions, and responsibility stay with us.

How long does a website take?+

A straightforward business site is usually weeks, not months. Applications depend on scope. Either way, you get a realistic timeline before we start.
